The parking address for this walk takes you to the car park in the middle of the village. The walk starts beside the church, a short distance away, and you may be able to find roadside parking on the road that leads off the main road beside the church. Montacute gets busy and parking can be a challenge at busy times.

The National Trust property, Montacute House, is worth visiting and there’s a cafe here if you need refreshments. There is another tea room in the village and a pub: the Phelips Arms.

The walk takes you to another pub on Ham Hill, the Prince of Wales (which has great views over Somerset towards the Somerset Levels) and back the same way. There are lots of possibilities for turning this into a longer, circular walk.
