- Circular walk: 5.69 miles
- what3words address for parking: we were staying in a cottage at Glen Rosa and had no need for parking. It is probably preferable, however, to start this walk on the outskirts of Brodick to get the less interesting part on the lanes over with at the beginning. There is small parking area beside the road and opposite the school at: ///belief.onto.dome or there is a larger car park at the start of the ‘fisherman’s walk’ section at ///stones.anode.pesky.

The Glen Rosa circuit is a popular walk, and it’s obvious why: it’s lovely. It’s also pretty much level (for Scotland …!). We walked this clockwise on an overcast Sunday in February and its popularity, especially with dog walkers, was evident. Once you get a little way beyond the Glen Rosa campsite the track becomes a footpath and the scenery is stunning.
Once we reached the A481 just past the Isle of Arran brewery and a few craft businesses we crossed over the main road and followed the ‘Fishermans Walk’ through the car park and onto the foreshore. About half way along the beach to the mouth of Glenrosa Water the track cuts inland slightly and continues on the landward side of the narrow lake where there are lots of water fowl. It then crosses a footbridge in the golf course and takes you back to the main road.
